The Continued Ed Requirements have changed through the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission, this was effective 9/1/2014. The Code now states:

You must complete 21 hours of Continued Ed in form of:

6 Hours - Required Subjects described
1 Hour - Professional Conduct (Ethics)
1 Hour - Broker Relationships Act
                                   1 Hour - Fair Housing
                                   1 Hour - Contracts & Forms
                                   1 Hour - Codes & Rules Update
1 Hour - Current Issue Hot Topic

                              15 Hours
- Elective Hours

Based on when you last renewed your license
(For An Active Sales Associate it is every 3 years),
you might have sat in a 3 hour Broker Relationship course, and now to renew you only need 1 hour in Broker Relationships.

So where does that put you?

For every 3 hour required subject you have completed prior to the code change, you may count 1 hour for the Required Course, and 2 hours for Electives. Even after you read this if you sit in a 3 hour accredited course and it is considered "Required", you will receive 1 hour for Required Credit, and 2 hours for Elective Credit.

Still Confused? Let me break it down:

Per old the old Code, you had to have 12 hours of Required core hours completed, this included Broker Relationship, Fairhousing, Professional Conduct (Ethics), and a Hot Topic. If I had completed these 4 required 3 hour courses and nothing else at this point, and I am to renew in June of 2014, OREC would have have my hours counted like this:

4 hours toward my 6 hours of Required
8 hours toward my 15 hours of Electives

So I would still need 2 hours of Required,
and 7 hours of electives to renew
